Eden Mill Fall Festival Celebrates the Season

On Nov. 2, 2013, a non-profit volunteer organization held the 3rd annual Fall Festival at the Eden Mill Nature Center from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Admission into the festival was free, along with the many different events held at the festival. Some of the events included pumpkin chunkin’, honey extraction & beeswax demonstrations, a gourd hunt, hands on corn grinding, and much, much more.

Fall is the perfect time to visit Eden Mill Park because of all the beautiful nature scenery. People can visit the wetlands, nature center, historical grist mill, the buffer zone trail and educational garden area.

The Eden Mill Nature Committee stated, “The purpose of the Fall Festival is to provide the opportunity for all people to develop a great appreciation and awareness of the natural and historical resources of the area.”

The nature center was open along with the unique gallery of pumpkins that were held on display. All of the pumpkins in the display were all hand carved and decorated by the non-profit volunteer organization.

Mr. Hedelson, a teacher at Bel Air High School, said, “If you really want to enjoy your weekend just head on down to the festival. They have tons of really cool events which will not disappoint you.”

The Fall Festival has managed to incorporate a perfect blend of both history and nature in one festival. Be sure to stop by the fall festival next year for a truly enjoyable experience with Eden Mill and its historical past.
