Team Meat Coma Wins BBQ Bash

On Fri., August 8 and Sat., August 9, 2014 the town of Bel Air hosted the annual Maryland Barbecue Bash.

The Maryland Barbecue Bash is a yearly street festival where patrons can take part in live music, children’s entertainment, and of course barbecue. The event also hosts a competition in which over fifty teams from across the state competing for $12,500 in cash prizes and a chance at competing in the Jack Daniel’s World championship Invitational Barbecue in Lynchburg, TN; or The American Royal in Kansas City, MO.

This year Team Meat Coma took the title of grand champion, followed closely by 3 EYZ BBQ, who took the title of reserve champion. The individual categories were won by BIG BLOCK BBQ (chicken), APORKALYPSE NOW (pork ribs), Team Meat Coma (pork), OLD VIRGINIA SMOKE (brisket), and Dirty Boy BBQ (tailgate ribs).

Matthew Bradley, an attendee of the event says that “The Bash has always been a great time for me and my family. There’s something for everyone, my dad and I can enjoy the great food and the entertainment keeps my little brother busy. If you were only going to go to one event during summer this should be the one.”

With its huge turnout of 25,000 plus people the Maryland Barbecue Bash once again proves to be a huge success. Great food, great music, and great entertainment ensure that food and festival lovers will always be excited for the biggest barbecue in Maryland.
