On Fri., August 8, 2014 staff and members of the Boys & Girls Club raised $35,000 to support the five clubs in Harford County at the Maryland State BBQ Bash.

The BBQ Bash is a place where all citizens of Harford County can come donate to the five Boys & Girls Clubs Harford County and have fun and socialize while donating.

Eleven individuals and five teams work together to raise money and bring awareness to the great futures that were supported at the clubs by selling raffle tickets and sponsoring happy hours.

“We sold t-shirts, hosted a happy hour, raffled an autographed Cal Ripken Jr. batting helmet, and partnered with the WOLO Food Truck and Tikiz Shaved Iced over the summer to raise our money,” says team captain, Frank Kellner. “It was most definitely a group effort.”

The Boys & Girls Club has grown to five sites throughout Harford County and now serves more than 400 children and teens on a daily basis. The Club is open to all youth ages 6 to 18.

“It’s a very fun place to be and everyone who works there are very kind and supportive!” says Alexis Fletcher, a 6th grader at Bel Air Middle School.

Boys and Girls clubs were established in 1990 due to a group of concerned citizens in the Aberdeen area and has grown to five clubs around Harford County and became a great success.
