The Merit of Athletic Trainers

As another March comes to a close, we look back and appreciate what athletic trainers do for us. They keep athletes on the field and allow us to keep doing what we love. An athlete’s worst fear is to have an injury struck upon them that keeps them off the field or the court for long periods of time. Athletic trainers recognize these injuries and make sure that athletes will not aggravate it and make it worse. This is very important to sports teams as injuries can cripple playoff chances and end seasons in a heartbreaking way.

Being an athlete allows me to understand and appreciate the impacts that athletic trainers have in sports. We rely on them to give accurate diagnoses on injuries so we can stay on the field. Their job is not only keeping athletes on the field, but keeping soldiers healthy and on their feet. Athletic trainers can be found all over the world including the military, office, and even the lab as they play a vital role in researching health. March has been dedicated to athletic trainers all around the world as they deserve much more credit than they get at this point in time. I find their job extremely important and hope they continue to receive the funds they deserve to keep people on the field and on the job.
