Boys’ Soccer Comes Up Short on Senior Night

On Tuesday October 8, 2013 the Boys’ Soccer team honored their seniors as they took on the Fallston Cougars in the team’s last home game. The team honored seven seniors Brandon Tolson, Brandon Klepetka, Shamus Riley, Kyle Warner, Andrew Marinich, Martin Palacios and Seth Orsini.

The Cougars started the game by scoring the first goal three minutes into the first half. Senior Shamus Riley scored the Bobcats first goal of the game at the 29 minute mark off of a penalty kick. At the end of the first half the score was tied at one.

During half time the seven seniors were honored one by one and their academic and sport achievements were recognized.

After back and forth action throughout the first half Senior Brandon Tolson had a breakaway goal with 5 minutes left. A beautiful assist came from Junior Anthony Sampayo. Unfortunately the Cougars tallied another goal with 22 seconds left to tie the game back up at 2. The game then went into overtime.

During the first overtime period the Bobcats dominated the first period. They had many chances but unfortunately couldn’t put the ball in the goal. At the end of the ten minutes the game was still tied and the game went into another overtime period.

In the second overtime Fallston dominated the game but it was very back and forth. The Cougars scored the winning goal off of a free kick with four minutes left, leaving the game at a 3-2 loss for Bel Air.

They boys’ soccer team moves to 6-5-1 on the season with two more games left in the regular season.
