Girls’ Volleyball Excited For Season With New Coaching

On Monday, Aug. 25 2014, the Girls’ Volleyball team had their first scrimmage at Bel Air to start off the season against the Perry Hall Gators.

One new change for the team this year is the new coaching. The varsity head coach, recently from C. Milton Wright, is Dave Marzola. The new junior varsity coach, Laura Neiman, and assisting both coaches is Stevenson graduate, Adam Thatcher. With high hopes and much determination, the team and coaching are ready to win this season.

On Aug. 25, the varsity girls’ volleyball team defeated Perry Hall in all 3 matches. Leading the team in kills, aces, and sets, our team captains Anna Wojciechowski and Taylor White. Also helping the team was Kaitlyn Cassaday throughout the matches. Out of all five sets, the match went to Bel Air winning the best three of five. The first scrimmage of the season was victorious.

Senior Caption, Taylor White says, “We did really well for our first time as a team and I can’t wait for all of the fun times we will have this season.”

On Wednesday, Aug. 27, the varsity girls’ volleyball team went up against South River Seahawks. The match went to the Seahawks. With more experience as a team, the lady bobcats have high goals to accomplish this year with the season officially starting on Friday, Sept. 5, at Patterson Mill.

Coach Marzola excitedly says, “This is going to be a good season with you girls, we have to take it game by game and I know we can go far.”

The girls’ volleyball team has their first official game on Friday, Sept. 5.
