Seniors Take On College Visits

During the summer of 2014, seniors at Bel Air High School went on vacation not only for enjoyment, but to start mapping out their futures through the use of college visits.

Many of the seniors at Bel Air went on road trips to visit and observe the vast variety of colleges located around the country. Some colleges require an appointment, while others, you are just free to drop in anytime.

One of the main purposes of a senior’s summer vacation is to explore the various places they could be spending their futures. College visits can bring many benefits, such as the knowledge of knowing the campus you will be staying at, the type of school they are, majors they provide, etc.

John Pitzer, a senior at BAHS, stated, “College visits make it very useful to know the place where I am going to be spending a good 8 years of my life.”

Even if you are not planning on going to a specific college, if you are near the campus, it might not be a bad idea to just stop by and check it out. This would give you some excellent secondary choices for your college selection.

College visits are not just for seniors. You can certainly visit colleges while you are a junior, sophomore, or even a freshman! They can definitely be extremely beneficial to your decisions that you make in your future.
